About the farm
The milling homestead boasting a 300-year-old mill that is listed in the cultural heritage register is located in Bela krajina on the sunny side of the mountain barrier of Gorjanci and Kočevski rog.
It lies on the banks of the Kolpa River, i.e. in the part where the river crosses a plain and features rapids, tributaries, waterfalls and meanders and thus represents an outstanding natural resource.
The farm does not serve food, but guests can, nevertheless, buy ingredients cultivated or produced on the farm. The selection is truly diverse as visitors can purchase eggs, lamb, goats, ducks, turkeys, hens, chickens and seasonal vegetables. You can stay at a studio that is actually a former miller’s quarters that has been imaginatively redecorated. This studio used to serve the miller who lived on the homestead when the mill was still in operation. You can rent a pedal boat and cruise on the Kolpa River or rent bicycles and diving equipment. The hosts will be happy to let you feed and watch the animals on the farm. If you wish, you can stay in the hay barn, while an interesting pastime is also a visit to the nearby forest, which is home to many forest dwellers.
Staying on the farm is also suitable for all those who enjoy discovering and getting to know the nearby and broader surroundings. You can visit Metlika, Črnomelj, the Kolpa Landscape Park, the viticultural trails above Metlika, the Krupa natural monument and others. There are also many other interesting places and routes that the friendly hosts will be happy to show you.
