The Goriška Region

The Goriška Region
Access: From the regional road Želin-Most na Soči there is a turning for Bukovo; from Cerkno over the local road and from the regional road Podbrdo-Most na Soči a turning from Grahovo ob Bači.

Zakojca lies on the edge of the Primorska region (Slovenian littoral), on the border of the Tolmin and Cerkljansko regions, high above Baška grapa, on the hillside of the domed Mount Kojca.

The farm of the Tušar family is situated at the beginning of the village. The farm is better known by the name Pri Flandru. The farm is sustainably run, which is why there is always plenty of homemade food such as juices, vegetables, potatoes and meat products like prosciutto, želodec salami, other salamis, zaseka spread, homemade bread and other delicacies from Marija’s kitchen.

In addition to seeing other animals on the farm, children can ride horses and take a ride in a carriage. Along with learning horseback riding skills and cross country riding, guests can go on riding tours in the nearby surroundings lasting several days, whereby there are six horses at most available for any single tour. In the summer, they can cycle, ascend Mount Kojca (1303 m), Mount Porezen (1632 m), Črna prst and Rodica or play on the playground with their children. The surroundings abound in natural and cultural attractions. You can visit the Divje Babe archaeological site, the museum in Kobarid, the Franja Partisan hospital, the mercury mine in Idrija and many other natural and cultural attractions. You can also drive to the rivers Idrijca or Bača for some fishing or swimming. There are certainly many more interesting activities to be enjoyed at the farm as well.
