About the farm

The Ambrož Gregorc tourist farm is located in Solčava in the Upper Savinja Valley (Zgornja Savinjska dolina). Where the old farmhouse once stood, you will now find a modern residential building that is home to as many as five family members. The family has been receiving guests from all over the world since 2002.

The lady of the house, Renata, is an excellent cook who ensures that guests never leave the house hungry or thirsty. Her cuisine takes its cues from traditional Slovenian cuisine and highlights the local culinary specialties and seasonal dishes. In the spring, plates are laden with dandelion and wild garlic dishes, while in the summer guests can enjoy fresh vegetables from the garden accompanied by meat produced at the farm or trout. Vegetarians will enjoy homemade cheeses and buckwheat štruklji (rolled dumplings), žganci and the like.

They are especially happy to see families with children come to the farm, as the little ones can play on the playground or help feed the many farm animals. Because the farm lies at the centre of Solčavsko, where three magnificent alpine valleys meet, it would be a cardinal sin not to don your hiking boots or mount a bicycle and discover the beauties of the valleys of Logarska dolina, Robanov kot and Matkov kot, all of which offer numerous possibilities for actively spending your free time in any season.
