About the farm

Z avtoceste Ljubljana-Novo mesto je treba izstopiti v Ivančni Gorici in peljati proti Stični. Tu se cesta vzpne proti Pristavi; od Stične, kjer se pojavijo kažipoti, do kmetije so štirje kilometri.

In Pristava nad Stično, at an elevation of 659 metres above sea level, a village that offers views of the magnificent mountain peaks of the Julian and Kamnik and Savinja Alps and even the Gorjanci hills, when the weather is good, lies the Okorn excursion farm.

The hosts will proudly boast that they have been pampering their guests for 20 years with diverse activities that they upgrade on an ongoing basis. The Okorn family is especially proud of the ‘farmer’s feast’ comprising mushroom and beef soup, pork ribs, black pudding, pečenica grilling sausage with pickled turnip and sauerkraut, Matevž mash and apple strudel. They also offer traditional Slovenian countryside dishes, which means that you will often notice stunning smells coming from the kitchen where buckwheat žganci covered in mushroom sauce, cottage cheese štruklji with veal roast or fried chicken are prepared. The Okorn family served their first fried chicken to guests as early as thirty years ago and the guests have kept returning for more ever since. A select beverage, of course, accompanies each dish.

There is a myriad of walking trails in the surroundings of the farm that let visitors get to know the nearby and broader surroundings and its attractions. The Okorn family is always happy to see families with children that can tire themselves out on the playground that the hosts have arranged for their youngest visitors. This year , they have set up a mobile home park at the farm.
