At the edge of the Ovsiše village lies the Porta eco farm, which is surrounded by meadows and forests.
Upon your arrival, you are sure to be greeted by a kitten, a rabbit and dog, while you will also have the opportunity to see sheep, cows, pigs, chicken and their young at the farm. The farm is self-sufficient and holds an organic farming certificate. Visitors can enjoy organic fresh milk, eggs, homemade bread, vegetables, various products made from cereals, dried meats and jam. You can also arrange to have your breakfast by the wood-fired bread oven.
The guest rooms are furnished with original furniture, while the kitchen and bathroom are fitted out with modern furniture. Guests can sit in the toplar double hayrack where they can view the collection of old tools or spend the night sleeping in hay. The surroundings feature footpaths and a small river, which runs downhill from the house and offers a space for relaxation to both children and adults. There is also a range of alternative sports activities available, such as caving (potholing or spelunking) and rafting, both of which you can enjoy accompanied by experts. Mount Jamnik, the Šum waterfall and the Kropa River are all good hiking destinations. The farm is also an excellent base for visits to Begunje, Bled and Brezje na Gorenjskem. You can reach Ljubljana in half an hour by train. Ski slopes are a little over half an hour away and children can learn to ski or take their sleds for a run right in front of the house.
