About the farm

Iz glavne ceste Kočevje-Petrina v Banji Loki, pri smerukazu do sdeine vasi 200m.

Above the upper Kolpa Valley nestles Banja Loka, a village that boasts being far from industrialization and in the immediate vicinity of one of Slovenia’s cleanest rivers.

The Pri Papeževih farm is one of the largest in the village and has roots stretching back to the 17th century. The descendents of the original owners have renovated the house for tourism, revived the orchard, renewed the production of basic farm crops, and begun raising sheep. Guests look after their own meals in the kitchen (although a breakfast buffet will be served by prior arrangement), and the hosts will provide advice and guidance to points of interest in the area.

The farm is an excellent starting point for hiking (Kočevje Trail, Kostelsko Mountain Trail, Kostelsko Castle Trail, etc.), and in summer the Kolpa River is alive with boating, swimming, and picnics along its banks. Kostel Castle is inviting in every season . . . It is possible to rent mountain bikes at the farm and play table tennis, and there are swings and a sandbox for children.
