About the farm
If you’ve never heard of Montinjan, a tiny village situated between Vanganel and Marezige, then you should do something about that and pay it a visit. Just eight kilometres from Koper, our farmhouse is located in the heart of Refosco country; you’ll find yourself surrounded by vines and olive trees, overlooking the Bay of Koper, the Alps and the Italian coast.
You will be welcomed by a lively team of family members and friends who will see to it that you enjoy the delights of Slovenian Istria in peaceful surroundings. Upon prior order, a delicious meal will be prepared for you by the second Wine Queen of Slovenia, Selma Lukač herself. You will be served prosciutto and other cured meats, daily fresh bread and pastries, gnocchi and fuži (Istrian pasta), vegetable side dishes based on family recipes, baccala (prepared cod), polenta and bobiči, a typical corn minestrone. The cellar offers wine and oil tasting, brandy and refosco liqueur, and homemade elderflower and mint juice for the little ones. If you come in May, you can combine your visit with the Refosco Festival, then there is the Šagra (village festival) under the oak tree in August and the traditional St. Martin’s Day celebration in November.
